Turbo NAS
1. Get Hardware Ready
Before installing firmware, please set up hardware first.
 
2. Install Firmware
You can think of the Turbo NAS as a mini PC. So, installation of an operating system is required before you can use the device.
 
3. Login QTS
Use your QTS user account and password to login QTS. (QTS is the operating system for the Turbo NAS)
 
Get the hardware ready
Please follow the instructions below to set up hardware step by step.
First of all, you need a screwdriver
to fasten the disk to the base of the disk tray.
Note: Phillips #1 or #2 Screwdriver is recommended.
 
Take out the disk tray from the Turbo NAS then fasten the disk with four screws matching the holes at the base of the disk tray.
Insert the disk trays into the Turbo NAS.
Note: All the drive data will be cleared upon hard drive initialization.
Connect the network and power cables.
Turn on the Turbo NAS.
Note: The NAS is ready when you hear a long beep.
Install firmware
Please check if there is a cloud sticker on the Turbo NAS or inside the color box. If yes, please choose "Cloud Installation" to install. If no, please choose "Local Installation" to download QNAP utility "Qfinder" to install.
Find your "Cloud Key"
If your Turbo NAS supports Cloud Installation, you will need a "Cloud Key". Please check your Turbo NAS for the "Cloud Key". If you cannot find it, it may be on the "Quick Installation Guide".
Start Cloud Installation
Make sure your Turbo NAS is connected to the Internet and click the below button to begin the Cloud Installation. After entering your "Cloud Key", follow the on-screen guide to finish setting up your Turbo NAS.
Alternatively, just scan the QR Code located next your "Cloud Key" with an iOS or Android device to begin installation.
Download Qfinder
Please download QNAP utility "Qfinder" based on your operating system to start firmware installation.
Install Qfinder
After downloading Qfinder, please install it on your PC. This utility will help you to locate and configure the Turbo NAS on the LAN.
Execute Qfinder
After installing Qfinder, the built-in Qfinder Setup Wizard will guide you along the way to complete firmware installation. Next, you can use QTS account username and password to log in (QTS is the operating system for the Turbo NAS.)
